Backup Care

It’s very reassuring to know that our employees have a plan in place when their regular care provider arrangements fall through. Our Backup Care program is perfect for those times when a regular caregiver is ill or on vacation, a spouse or loved one is recovering from medical treatment, a child or adult family member is ill, during school closures, or while away on business. Verizon Wireless contracts with Work Options Group to offer this unique service.

Healthy Babies

Believing that every baby should be a healthy baby, we’re pleased to offer one of our most popular programs. The CIGNA HealthCare Healthy Babies® program provides the information and support our employees need to make the best choices for growing babies. Our employees receive valuable educational materials that serve as a resource throughout pregnancy, round-the-clock access to a toll-free information line staffed by experienced registered nurses, and eligibility for support from a registered nurse case manager should baby have special healthcare needs

Employee Assistance Program

One of our key Work/Life and Wellness initiatives, this program helps employees stay healthy and resolve personal issues by offering confidential counseling services and referrals. EAP counselors are not Verizon Wireless employees, all interactions are confidential, and services are offered at no cost to employees. Adoption Assistance

When employees choose to expand their families, Verizon Wireless is there to help. We are committed to easing the financial burden of adoption by helping defray some of the costs—$3000 for full-time employees and $1500 for part-time. This program also provides a number of time-off options that our employees use when going through the adoption process or after a new child comes home.

Paid Vacation

It’s our philosophy that vacation offers much-needed time for employees to re-energize. Regular full-time and part-time employees receive paid vacation based on years of service as follows:

6 months–3 years, 10 days

3–10 yrs, 15 days

10–15 yrs, 20 days

15+ yrs, 25 days

Vacation allotment for part-time employees is based on the number of hours worked.
