For the fourth consecutive year, Verizon Wireless
was recognized as a top workplace for information
technology (IT) professionals by Computerworld.
The company rose to 18th on the list, which is
based in part on employee surveys. Verizon Wireless
was the only telecommunications provider in the
top 100.

time the company has received the No. 1 ranking.

For the fifth consecutive year, Verizon Wireless
has been recognized for its training and development
programs. Verizon Wireless ranked #6 on Training magazine's
2006 list of "Top 100 Training Organizations
in America." As part of this recognition,
Verizon Wireless also received a Training Top 100
Best Practice award for its approach to Customer
Service Training.
Working Mother Friendly
New Jersey Breastfeeding Task Force, January 18,

Verizon Wireless received the first Breastfeeding
Friendly Award of 2006 from the New Jersey Breastfeeding
Task Force in recognition of the company's innovative
programs that facilitate breastfeeding, including
the availability of lactation rooms at all major
corporate facilities from coast to coast.

The Wellness Councils of America awarded Verizon
Wireless with a Gold Well Workplace award as part
of its America's Healthiest Companies program,
which recognizes quality and excellence in worksite
health promotion. Verizon Wireless was recognized
for its commitment to provide resources to its
52,000 employees to help them improve their health
and well-being.

In a new job survey conducted by TelecomCareers.net
both online and at March's CTIA show in New Orleans,
Verizon Wireless was identified as having the reputation
of best wireless company to work for, with nearly
double the respondents naming Verizon Wireless
over number two carrier, Cingular Wireless.

The U.S. Pan Asian American Chamber of Commerce
- Southwest named Verizon Wireless 2004 Corporation
of the Year. The chamber presents the award,

Verizon Wireless received CIO Magazine's CIO 100
Award at the CIO 100 Symposium & Awards Ceremony
in Coronado, CA. The company received the prestigious
accolade based on leadership and innovation in
the use of information technology to increase organizational
agility. The CIO 100 recipients represent the highest
standards of competence, creativity, leadership
and accomplishment in the information technology
(IT) field. A special August issue of the magazine
lists Verizon Wireless and the top 100 winners
in 2004.

Market research firm Gartner, Inc. positioned Verizon
Wireless in the Leader quadrant in its July 2004
research titled "Magic Quadrant for U.S. Wireless
Service Providers." According to Gartner,
Inc., Leaders are vendors who are performing well
today, have a clear vision of market direction
and are actively building competencies to sustain
their leadership position in the market.

ComputerWorld named Verizon Wireless one of the
Best Places to Work in IT in their annual Top 100
list. The company was cited for its low voluntary
attrition rate of only 3%, flexible career plans
and on-site master's of IT program.

Verizon Wireless CEO Denny Strigl was inducted
into RCR Wireless News' Hall of Fame due to his
industry leadership and strong company financial
performance. In an interview, the publication outlines
his career in telecommunications and cites his
early recognition that "customers want high-quality
calls. They want wide-area coverage, and if you
did that for a fair price, even better." When
asked about wireless industry consolidation, Strigl
explained that, whichever carriers remain, there
is plenty of opportunity to go around. "Competition
is good for the business," he said. "The
tougher the competition, the bigger the challenge."

The National Healthy Mothers, Healthy Babies Coalition
has selected Verizon Wireless as a 2004 Workplace
Model of Excellence. The prestigious designation,
which is given to a select group of U.S. companies
each year, specifically recognizes the unique ways

and the intranet.

received this honor because of its healthy and
accommodating working environment for women, the
magazine said.

recognized the company for its high percentage

Verizon Wireless was named a "Workplace Model
of Excellence" award winner by the National
Healthy Mothers, Healthy Babies Coalition, the
leading coalition on maternal and child health
issues. The company was recognized for the unique
way it uses technology to promote family health
education for its employees. Through teleconferencing
and a company intranet system, working parents
at Verizon Wireless have access to critical information
on fatherhood, maternal and child health, premature
births, stress management, prenatal nutrition and
other important issues for family well being. Anita
Boles, the coalition's executive director, said: "We
salute Verizon Wireless for setting new standards
in the workplace to support family health and well-being."

Verizon Wireless ranked Number One in Technology
Business Research's 4Q02 Mobile Operators Benchmark
Report. "Verizon Wireless improved to the
Number One position in TBR's 4Q02 mobile operator
competitive benchmark, thanks to consistent profitability
metrics, an improved subscriber churn rate and
strong net subscriber additions," according
to analyst Jay Slattery.

Research firm Technology Business Research (TBR)
named Verizon Wireless its overall Number One Wireless
Provider, and "the best-positioned U.S. wireless
carrier." In a report, TBR writes: "Verizon
Wireless operated at the top of its game throughout
the majority of 2002, and 4Q02 was no different.
The company posted strong subscriber and revenue
growth, as well as year-over-year improvements
in average revenue per user and subscriber churn,
while continuing to scale its operations without
significantly increasing costs." In addition
to being named Number One Wireless Provider overall,
Verizon Wireless is listed as the leader in Product
